From a small kitchen in Sydney to culinary experiences across Australia
In 2016, our founder Emma Chen was hosting her first dinner party in her new apartment. She'd spent three hours on a mushroom risotto that, by the time guests arrived, had transformed into something resembling cement. The night was saved by emergency pizza delivery and a lot of wine.
That moment of culinary disaster sparked something unexpected. Emma enrolled in every cooking class she could find. Most were disappointing—crowded rooms where you watched an instructor cook while struggling to see over someone's shoulder. She knew there had to be a better way.
Noble Trek launched in 2018 with a simple premise: what if cooking classes felt less like watching a cooking show and more like learning from a friend? We started with just four students in a rented commercial kitchen in Surry Hills. Word spread.
Within a year, we'd outgrown that space. By 2020, we'd expanded to Melbourne. Today, we run experiences in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth—but we've never lost that intimate, hands-on approach that made us different from the start.
Our instructors aren't just skilled chefs—they're natural teachers who remember what it felt like to be beginners themselves.
From burnt risotto to running a culinary school. Emma specializes in Asian fusion and making complex techniques feel approachable.
Fifteen years in fine dining kitchens taught Marcus everything about technique. Teaching at Noble Trek taught him patience and joy.
Trained in Paris, passionate about making baking feel less intimidating. Her croissant workshops have a waitlist.
You don't learn to cook by watching. Every moment in our kitchen, your hands are busy. Make mistakes, make messes, make memories.
We celebrate the wonky tart, the slightly overdone steak, the sauce that almost didn't come together. Cooking is a journey, not a destination.
We partner with local farms and suppliers who share our values. Great ingredients make great cooking—and support great communities.
Every skill level, every background, every dietary requirement. Our kitchen has room for everyone who wants to learn.
"What I love about Noble Trek is that they make you feel like you belong in the kitchen, even when you're completely out of your depth. There's no judgement, just encouragement." — David K., Brisbane
